Wtf is this "g**" supposed to be? he/she/it supposedly has absolute authority except for creation but if the world, humans and spirits created by the creation spirit are completely outside of his influence then this goes beyond just "creation" and the authorities are obviously anything but absolute. this concept doesn't make sense at all and this is exactly why webtoon/webnovel authors should stick to simple stories because they all lack the skill to write anything intricate and it always ends up as pseudo-philosophical bullshit.

Amatuer authors commonly think "the audiance won't understand if I don't spell it out for them." However, it's actually better to give them bits and pieces that finally lead to the answer through the Chekov's Gun method.
I might be a little harsh on this one^^ It's not that bad, but it's already the 4th one this week that pis*** me off because of pseudo-philosophical nonsense plotholes! :P
I agree that it's easier to explain a world and plot bit by bit, but I'm not even criticizing that amateur STYLE but the SKILL. no matter whether you do this or you dive right into the deep end, it still both requires that there is an actual "depth". But in the end it's always just an illusion of depth with webtoons/novels, like putting a '5m depth' sign on a kiddie pool :P
They always just take philosophical ideas from all kinds of different directions (actually good books, movies, religion, etc) that they obviously didn't take the time needed to even get a basic understanding and try to patch sth together that sounds cool but makes no sense at all.
I swear the next time I see a MC say the Buddhist concept "Form is emptiness, and emptiness is form" just because they want to draw a cool yin and yang "Taoist" attack, I#m gonna print it out just to burn it xD
Anyways! Yeah, just about every manwha/manhua, for the first 24 chapters, is just the author tossing cr** at a wall and seeing what sticks. This means that any philosophical bull will eventually mean nothing anyways -_- Them usually being based off LNs, which are written the same way, is a big reason why. You have a good idea, you just start writing cr** out and seeing where it goes. You then take your favorite parts and end up going in a completely random direction and that's what your story becomes... so all the pseudo-philosophical bullshit you spewed at the beginning quickly just becomes a gate keep to keep people from actually getting to the good part of the story
thus why I prefer a trickle in... you only have 2 or 3 items to adjust instead of a massive world building element that half your audience just dropped your product because of.well that's up to personal taste^^ Murim/Wuxia/whatever, they always start as light fun and it's fantasy so if you just say "There is energy all around us and you can get stronger by either absorbing it or using plants that have absorbed it" that's totally fine with me (eating plants that have absorbed and converted nutrients and breathing to produce energy is literally how our bodies work xD), but even fantasy needs rules and the moment they try to implement deeper stuff, the rules go out the window for the sake of "coolness"...
Ha, and I wish they were based on Light Novels, at least they have to go through an editor, so there is some quality control. that's why any manga based on a LN is better than a webtoon based on a WN, because everyone involved is at least a semi-pro, but every idiot with an internet connection can post a WN and then produce some AI art or work with an artist who draws the rather simple character designs and adds stock photo backgrounds with a comic filter^^'
Well if the story is halfway entertaining I still keep reading, I complain after 24 chapters and I will still complain after 100 chapters^^ but lately I've been seriously thinking about why I even bother reading webtoons, sure it's entertaining for a while, but 80-90% will never be finished because it makes more money for the publisher to start the next new series that won't be finished, so if you want to know the end you'll have to then keep reading the horribly written WN that at that point propably already has 500 to 1000 chapters with no end in sight as well...
So I guess I will start sorting out my bookmarks and limit my reading to manga and only a handful of webtoons that have higher production quality and at least seem to be on a good pace to being finished^^
I should say though, LN is a format, it does not require editors or quality control. Thanks to the internet, it can then be put online and sold for a few cents a chapter. WN is the name for any type of novel that is only on the web, and there are several publishing companies that don't even bother with printed versions now thanks to things like audiable. Several manga are also based off WNs, even anime. The biggest difference has to deal with the amount of time that's spent on the finished product. A Manwha having a raw release of 2 weeks is a LONG time. On the other hand, the second a manga gains popularity, it switches over to a monthly release, giving them more time to rewrite the amatuerish script they've been forced to work with. (weekly and bi-weeklies are actually rare now in comparison to monthlies and are usually done with the flashy new stuff)
Of course the Light Novel is a format, what else would it be?^^ but, I think you're thinking of ''format' as the same as 'writing style', that's not quite the same. Both are usually written in a similar 'style' that's quite dialogue heavy, but the LN 'format' is pretty well defined and it's that of a professionally editorialized, proofread and published book. Sure it's sometimes serialized chapter by chapter in magazins before compiling it as a whole volume and of course nowadays it's also available as e-book, but the distinction between LN and WN is indeed mainly the professional quality.
And I'm not saying every WN is total cr**, there are passionate WN authors, there are those that have an editor, and yes there are manga and anime adaptations, but that's just the good old "exceptions confirm the rules". For example, the 'Solo leveling' anime is better than the webtoon, the webtoon is better than the WN, the WN is still the weak point. And from the ones that I've read so far, the manga based on LN are better than the manga based on WN^^
As for how fast new content is produced, It doesn't have to be high cuisine but I prefer a decent meal over fast food, so I don't mind getting one decent manga chapter per month rather than a mediocre webtoon chapter every week ;)
Spirit of creation created... well, everything.
The spirits lived in the human world and enjoyed seeing what humans could achieve, due to their ability to create which is unique to them. Spirits and g** can't create, only the original spirit of creation and humans can.
g** didn't like that, wanted that power for himself, and gaslight the spirits and the spirit of creation into believing humans would use spirits to increase their own power and that spirits and humans should be separated, but due to how the separation was done if the spirit kings all die the power of creation of humans and the spirit of creation will go to g** instead.
G**'s plan is that once humans lose the power of creation they will be forced to worship him.
Seems simple.
I didn't say I don't understand the plot, I said it's badly written and this "g**" doesn't make much sense.
- the first statement is that he can do anything except create
- the second statement is that he can't interfere with the world, humans and spirits at all because it was created by the creation spirit, so even if it doesn't have anything to do with creating he can't do anything which contradicts the first statement.
- the third point is that he is gaslighting and manipulating the spirits, which is indirect interference but if he can't interfere at all then he shouldn't be able to contact the spirits on earth in the first place, so it contradicts the second statement
And btw there is no mentioning at all of g** wanting the humans to worship him, rather the exact opposite as the next chapter reveals. If you don't want to look like a fool then make sure you read the chapter and their comment more carefully before you try to lecture someone.
Seems simple.
