@Yuyang is pwetty unfortunately everyone reacts to trauma differently. I have read that one and I loved how he changed over time, but the only reason he changed was because of the stepmothers influence. He had someone to help him see what he was doing to the poor child and help him change himself. The emperor doesn't, and in this story he is honestly reacting typical of a ra** victim who was forced to have a child with their rapist, especially since the empress likely kept the prince away from the emperor so that he couldn't influence him away from her. They live in different palaces, most likely only interact for public functions, to keep the prince under her influence so she can be in control once the emperor is gone.
I think if the emperor had someone like the stepmother from the other story around him, he'd be able to change too. Hopefully that's what Ekhart can do.

@Figgyfrac to be fair, the emperor was drugged and raped by the empress and forced to conceive a child with her that he never wanted. It's understandable that he would want to distance himself from the empress at all costs, and unfortunately that would've also included his son.

You're right though. Ian has done bad things but he is full of nothing but regret and self-loathing over those actions. And the sad thing is he did those actions out of his love for TJ. I'm glad he obviously doesn't love TJ romantically anymore. It's more.. like in remembrance of what they once had and the years and sh** they've been through together. It's also very hard to break off that kind of connection so I get Ian's struggle to leave.

@Mister.Black I mean there was a part where they were in high school and it showed him figuring out that Wooseo had feelings for him. But I agree, neither of the brothers are blameless. The younger brother is just trash and I've already said everything I want about him. The older one did manipulate him into developing feelings for him, but for it to happen as fast as it did, I think Wooseo was already interested, or at least attracted to him, just his feelings for the younger blinded him to everything else.
