@pousaylova6 just to put this into perspective, he already knows a pro-theif is going to aim for them and the only way to keep him from stealing them is to axe the theif. They only need 5 cubes to start extracting power from the cubes, so having 1 in some highly secure vault, 1 in some obscure spot, and 1 directly on hand isn't really the way to go. placing them in a spot where an individual would have to be absurd to go to unless they were obviously aiming for the cubes and then targeting said individual without  question, while maintaining a defensive primeter actually makes more sense. However, the current security measures of that cave seem EXTREMELY lacking x.O;

@Terrin you basically said everything I did x.O; after saying "grab a bear by the underbelly" is a myth. An animal weighing over 500lbs suddenly belly flopping on you, believe it or not, might just lead to broken bones, concussion, or death. However, getting mauled is a sure fire way to get massive chunks of flesh removed, limbs taken off, or just a good way to get your head collapsed in. You can't "fight, fight, fight" when you're already dead x.O; That's why the entire "If you have to fight, grab them under the chest" thing came about. So, if he were to directly kill him, Desmond or someone else could raise a fuss and the territory could be confiscated by the King, who would then allocate it to a magistrate until a proper investigation was done to find the rightful heir. If the people rise up because of poor governence, if the familial inheritor settles the dispute, he is immediately instated as the new governing body.

He got the common people, who hated him, to kill him; in front of him. They didn't have farm equipment to not use it, it was just done off screne. He didn't kill him because he couldn't be for his plan to be carried out appropriately.

As for no soul destruction, no one has been resurrected for a 2nd time and not wanting to be resurrected a 3rd in this manwha 🤣
